Jun 30, 2010Frontier Airlines Announces Kansas City - Austin ServiceDaily Nonstop Service Begins Nov. 18, 2010
DENVER, June 30, 2010 -
Frontier Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of Republic Airways
Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:RJET), today announced it will launch nonstop
service from Kansas City International Airport (MCI) to Austin-Bergstrom
International Airport (AUS) beginning Nov. 18, 2010. Fares for this new
service will be available at FrontierAirlines.com
on July 1, 2010.
“Frontier is thrilled to provide the Kansas City community with a fourth
nonstop destination in 2010,” said Daniel Shurz, VP of strategy and
planning. “Austin is a top travel destination and we are pleased to
provide the Kansas City community with its only nonstop access to the
Live Music Capital of the World.”
"Frontier's growth at KCI is a sign of their commitment to Kansas City,"
said Mark VanLoh, Kansas City director of aviation. "The Kansas City to
mid-Texas region generates about 400 passengers per day, all of whom are
currently forced to connect in another airport. This new nonstop service
will get them there faster, be it for business or pleasure."
This new route will be flown by the carrier’s Embraer 170 aircraft. The
76-seat E170 features comfortable two-by-two all leather seating. The
carrier’s E170 and E190 aircraft will be outfitted with inflight
internet service by fall 2010.
Following are the new flight schedules:
Kansas City - Austin (effective Nov. 18, 2010)
Route
The new Austin service is Frontier’s 14th nonstop destination
from Kansas City. In early June, Frontier announced it will also launch
new nonstop service between Kansas City and San Jose Del Cabo (SJD).
That seasonal service will operate Dec. 18, 2010, through April 16, 2011.
