Sep 2, 2010Frontier Airlines Announces Omaha ExpansionNew service to California; seasonal Florida service returns
DENVER, September 02, 2010 - Frontier Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of Republic Airways Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: RJET), today announced the addition of nonstop service from Omaha (OMA) to both San Diego (SAN) and Los Angeles (LAX). The carrier also announced the return of seasonal nonstop service from Omaha to both Orlando (MCO) and St. Petersburg/Clearwater (PIE). Introductory fares for these routes will be available for a limited time for $89 each way at FrontierAirlines.com/introfares.The flights to Los Angeles, Orlando and San Diego will be available for purchase starting today. The St. Petersburg/Clearwater service will be available for purchase Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010. “With the addition of this service, our guests in Omaha and beyond can now enjoy Frontier’s great service and affordable fares to even more top travel destinations,” said Daniel Shurz, vice president of planning and strategy. “With seven nonstop destinations and convenient connections through Denver and Milwaukee, the Omaha community now has more choices and greater flexibility in their travel.” “We are extremely pleased with Frontier Airlines’ announcement to continue seasonal nonstop service to two Florida markets this winter, as well as new year-round nonstop service to two West Coast cities,” said Steve Coufal, executive director of the Omaha Airport Authority. “With Frontier’s new service, travelers can now fly nonstop to 20 destinations from Omaha. We appreciate Frontier’s commitment and service to the Omaha metropolitan area.” Frontier will operate its Embraer 190 aircraft on each of these new routes. The E190 features comfortable all-leather seating in a two-by-two configuration. The E190 aircraft comes equipped with four rows of STRETCH seating, which provides an additional five inches of legroom. The aircraft will also feature in-flight Wi-Fi by the end of 2010.
