Mar 12, 2012Frontier Airlines Searches for New “Spokesanimal”Carrier Lets the People Decide At FrontierAirlines.com
DENVER, March 12, 2012 - Despite much protest from Frontier’s popular “spokesanimals”, the Denver-based carrier today announced it will let the people choose the next animal to appear on a Frontier Airlines aircraft tail. Auditions begin today at FrontierAirlines.com, and will end on April 7, 2012, when the 18 potential characters will be whittled down to the top three. Voting on the final three will take place April 9-15, with the winning animal announced at the end of April. “Frontier’s spokesanimals have enjoyed such a loyal following and we have no doubt our fans will choose the best animal to join the team,” said Dan Krause, Frontier’s vice president of branding and customer experience. “We hope our fans will enjoy getting to know the 18 potential candidates through our television spots and by visiting the audition room at FrontierAirlines.com. There is some real talent in this group and we expect our fans will have a difficult time picking their favorite.” The integrated marketing initiative kicks off this week with the first of seven different television spots airing in the Denver market. Throughout the four week campaign, Frontier fans will be introduced to the 18 contenders through their audition reels featured in the airline’s advertisements and in the audition room at FrontierAirlines.com. Frontier will also host special meet the candidate events through the carrier’s Facebook page at Facebook.com/FrontierAirlines. Fans are also encouraged to join the conversation on Twitter (@FlyFrontier) using the hashtag #FrontierAnimals. The 18 contenders vying for the job include: Fans voting for their candidate at FrontierAirlines.com will receive a special offer by email for a discount on future Frontier travel and will also be entered to win up to $2,500 in Frontier Fly Bucks. Fans can also visit Frontier’s Facebook page and enter to win a number of prizes including the new iPad, Kindle Fire and Frontier Fly Bucks.
